Location of McGarrett and Wo Fat’s first encounter revealed

Where is that noodle house?

One of the lingering questions after Monday’s episode “Na Me’e Laua Na Paio” was “Where is that noodle house that McGarrett and Wo Fat meet?”

Well, we hear Steve tell Jenna Kaye earlier in the episode to meet him at  the “Ono Fun Noodle House” at 8 PM (“ono” means “delicious” in Hawaiian).  Fast forward to 8 PM that night, and Steve is surprised by the appearance of the mysterious Wo Fat.  The twitter feed was subsequently flooded with “Where is that?!?”

A few food connoisseurs quickly pointed out that the restaurant with its noodle maker in the window and stylish Chinese writing on the wall is the Nihao Chinese Restaurant in Makiki.

Filming happened the night of February 17th, and the Five-0 crew left some cool souvenirs- the call sheet, script pages and a autographed chef’s coat.  I’m glad that the production crew utilizes a lot of local eateries for location shots!

It’s great to see the show using plenty of local businesses, but I guess this restaurant didn’t pay quite enough noodles for their real name to be used in the show! What a pity. Looks like a good place to feed.

    Thanks for the info!

Not to be a nag, but technically, this was there SECOND encounter. Don’t forget about the Kaimuki Country Club (or in reality, the Ko’olau) in Ke Kinohi 😉

I’m planning on mentioning this in my podcast reviewing the show and I’ll give you props as always. Thanks for the info!

Thanks for vindicating me on my Five-0 Redux blog as someone said “wasn’t it a Japanese restaurant?” And I’m pretty sure I can tell when people are speaking Chinese vs. Japanese… but THANK YOU for the confirmation! 🙂 Aloha, WJ

In their “first” encounter Steve didn’t know who Wo Fat was. This was the “first” encounter since Steve has discovered who Wo Fat is! :>)
