Keck’s Exclusives: Who’s Going Down on Five-0?

Grace Park, Daniel Dae Kim, Reiko Aylesworth

CBS’ Hawaii Five-0 will say a final aloha to a familiar face in the May 16 season closer. “It’s sort of our all-star episode,” teases exec producer Peter Lenkov. “Jean Smart [Governor Jameson], Kelly Hu [Laura Hills] and Will Yun Lee [Sang Min] are all coming back.” But one star will not return next season. “There will be a murder,” confirms Lenkov.

On the possible hit list: Grace Park (Kono), who may have tired of living in Hawaii, plus Jean and Kelly, both of whom have new NBC pilots. Stressing that “pilots may not get picked up,” Lenkov confirms that his cliff-hanger will be a “Holy crap! I-can’t-believe-they-did-that whodunit!”

  1. Kelly says:

I’m going to predict it will the the Governor. 😦

  2. Cécile says:

Aw come on, not Kono ! She’s a kick ass not all knowing rookie with a brain, that’s rare in tv shows. It’s always about middle aged specialists. She’s been a bit underused this season, but it’s only the beginning. I seriously hope it’s not her.

  3. jujubee19 says:

I’m thinking Sang Min. Steve has this job because of the Governor. What happens to the whole task force if she goes?

    • Awesomefan says:

The same thing that would happen to them if she didn’t get re-elected. In the pilot, doesn’t Steve say something about her wanting to look tough on crime in an election year? They don’t have to kill her off, they can vote her out!

I love Sang Min. He’s so….bad! I hope Kono stays, they could really have fun with her character next season.

    • McPhee says:

That’s what I was thinking who will take over will Laura Hills be able to? She says she works with the Gov.

    • Ichi says:

Actually, if the governor goes, that would add an interesting vein to the plot! What are our four favorite cops gonna do then?? 🙂

  4. sam says:

McGarrett? Nope, he is the main character of the show, would be pretty lame without the head of the Task Force. Besides me personally I love the character way too much to loose him.

Danno? The same as for McGarrett.

Chin? I don’t think so, he is a real cool character, would be really hard to replace him.

Kono? The only women of the team? Who are you kidding?

So I think the four main characters are pretty save.

Rachel, Stan, Grace? They are not going to kill off a kid. The Ex-Wife? That would complicate Danny’s life way too much, I mean as a single father and all. Stan? Well maybe, but that would mean Rachel had no reason to stay in Hawaii and if she would leave so would the main reason for Danny to stay in Hawaii. So I guess he is pretty safe too.

Governor Jameson? I don’t think so, I mean it IS the Governors Task Force after all. I think it is too early to question the Task Force itself this early in the run of the show. But who knows.

Cathrine Rollins? (she is in a new series, some war zone hospital, or something like that) I hope not, I like her and Steve, they are good together. Besides ANOTHER “Family member” of Steve’s to kill off would be a bit of an overkill. At least I think so.

Mamo or Kamekona? Well Mamo is a witness and wasn’t there an attempt on his life already? Even if it was never said it was for him or McGarrett. Kamekona, well he does have ties to the “underworld”, so maybe it could be him. Hope not, I like him, he is a fun character.

My money is on Victor Hesse. He knows way too much about Wo Fat and is a liability to him. So I think he needs to go. Of course for him I would not scream “Holy crap…” so maybe not.

Actually I have no idea who it might be, just one think I know for sure, I’m thinking way too much about this. LOL

  5. Sammie says:

I will be seriously upset if they Kate-Todd off Kono.

  6. Hannah says:

If it’s Kono I will stop watching the show, It really better not be… I think if they do kill her off, the show will lose many of it’s viewers. She’s a good role model for girls, she helps show that girl can kick ass too!

    • officer808 says:

You’re right, *Kono* is a good positive role model. Typically I don’t advocate actors to be role models, because they are playing someone else. Parents should be the best role models. But I agree that the Kono character is a positive, strong and intelligent role.

    • Cécile says:

Young people in their twenties identify themselves easily to her too. Chin, Danny and Steve have already made it, she’s still in the making.

  7. Kimmer says:

Grace Park is “tired of living in Hawaii?” Is she tired of being on another hit TV show? Ugh. I don’t think they would kill off any of the main four, nor do I think that they would kill off Catherine. Alex has said that McG is in tough shape (or something – that’s not a quote, I don’t remember specifically) at the end of the finale – I suppose that if the Gov gets murdered and the fate of the 5-0 is unknown as a result, that could be a pretty big cliffhanger.

Or they could kill off StepStan. Rachel wouldn’t necessarily leave the island, maybe Danny has to admit that he likes it there and she stays with Grace.

    • McPhee says:

Why would she be tired of living in Hawaii they all live pretty much in the same block in Hawaii she has really good close friends that she works with there

      • Kimmer says:

Exactly – I think that’s a rumor, or a misinterpretation of something she said.

      • officer808 says:

I have no idea how Grace park feels, but some people don’t like the idea of being on an island where they can’t just jump in a car and do a long distance drive. Circling around the island 10 times unfortunately doesn’t count as a cross country trip.

  8. McPhee says:

I’m predicting Wo Fat will plant something in the finale and plan his asault on the Govenor for hiring McGarrett to find and kill the person who was involved in his father’s murder. Or if that doesn’t happen I’m thinking Laura Hills will be killed. We have been riddled with questions and answers on the case and there is going to be trouble with the Yakuza gang for sure.

Don’t worry it wont happen on Kono we need a female on the show. If we lose her 3 guys is good but all 4 of them work great together.

  9. Benito says:

hey i think its the governor cos peter lenkov said it would be a holy crap moment. i seriously hope it not kono

  10. Ichi says:

If they kill off Kono, they’d no doubt replace her with Jenna Kaye, blegh!

I’ll take the bullet for you Kono!!!!

  11. lankyguy says:

I think the Kono blurb is a total feint.

I am pretty sure Catherine will not be back as the actress is signed onto do a pilot for another show. The actress who plays Rachel has indicated she may not be back, she also has other offers – but that doesn’t mean any of them is getting blowed up.

My money is on the Governor – at least. They may go all Dynasty and off half the supporting cast.

  12. Merry Blue says:

OK, Officer. If you have time (lots of spare time!) you could run a contest in which we all privately e-mail you (yes, we know you don’t get enough e-mail – I’m trying to help with that) our theory of what happens in the final episode. Who gets bumped off? What’s the cliff hanger that leaves us needing oxygen all summer?

After the finale, you can reveal the winner and award one of your famous Prizes.
    How ’bout it?

  13. which ones wearing the red shirt. : )
