I was a bit disappointed that I didn’t hear Mike’s take on this episode- he is such a fan of the show…did he call you privately Officer 808 any “insight” to what he thought of the episode???

For me, pidgin is mostly translated into French, and the accent is gone, so it takes all the local flavor and the comic situation away. When Danny doesn’t understand, he just looks dumb instead of out of place. Only “Haole” is kept, but sounds nothing like in the original. Kamekona’s introduction is lame and Kawika looks much less scary…

And FYI, Danny’s voiceover actor is the same who did Hurley, on Lost. Nice connection, but doesn’t really sell the tough guy personna…And he can’t keep up with Scott’s fast-talking delivery.

I just thought it kinda, “strange”? “anticlimatic”? without getting Mike’s opinions on such an exciting episode! Sure the finale is days away but you have 120 something posts alone just on the episode.! I am sure Mike has some great thoughts as well. thanks again!
Oh officer Bob this was soo much fun. Brock Whaley is hysterically funny and just love when he says that he has HD television which I don’t just yet, but he’s remark about the “secretary” needs to remove her moustache….oh my God, talk about funny….I just cracked up laughing and couldn’t stop and so many other crazy comments he made. Its the first time I heard of Brock Whaley….lol….total riot.
Ok the next thing undercover – can you please confirm for me the last bit of the conversation by the phone caller for TNT…..for the “international viewers” we all heard that they brought over the syndication but what the caller said was that it was no longer going to be on cbs for the second season. Did I hear right…because then international viewers might be screwed and I’d be sooo upset if we missed he show!!!

Incidentially forgot to add that my cousin from Portugal is currently watching and they have two options either to have it in Portuguese or the original English and he prefers watching it in English…..he’s excuse is to improve his English…lol!! But I’m sure for most europeans it would be the same, watching it in English.

Really enjoyed the podcast, and Brock’s take was a lot of fun — snappy, irreverent, calls ’em like he sees ’em (still watching on an old CRT-based TV, so missed the unfortunate lady-‘stache). 😀 Thanks for recording and podcasting the shows, too — makes for one more really great facet of the overall 5-0 experience!
(Re: the TNT caller… sounds like someone was on the tail end of a game of “post office,” ‘cos no way is CBS gonna hand over its most successful new drama, a “billion dollar franchise,” to another network for first-time broadcast!) 😉

Loved the back and forth this week with Brock. Eli and I listened avidly in preparation for recording our recap tomorrow of last Monday’s episode for our next podcast. Have to say I did feel a little sorry for the actress Brock commented on about her unfortunate facial hair. You handled that gracefully. As far as Brock’s comment about Steve picking up Grace at school and no one seeming concerned, as Lost fans we were often told by the Producers, you don’t always capture every moment on camera. So it’s quite conceivable that Steve already had cleared picking her up with her school, flashed his badge to any one who questioned him, or just simply was checked off on a permission form by Danny and Rachel as being someone approved to pick her up!

Hey Dana, great for picking up the comment about Steve picking up Grace from school. That was such a cute endearing scene. We have never seen Steve intereact with uncle Steve but even though we don’t see everything in minute little detail it makes sense that over time that Steve would “fill in the role of uncle” in Grace’s young life. I’m sure that there will be lots of little detail that isn’t evident on the show but we just pick them up as we move along. Looking forward to your podcast chat with “Redux” for the final episode next week.
